Get in touchAre you facing challenges, changes or choices and finding that previous strategies just aren't helping anymore?
You might be struggling with one or more of life's countless challenges:
Anxiety that steals your peace.
Depression that steals your joy.
Burnout that steals your energy.
Transitions that steal your identity.
Menopause that changes everything.
Health fears that dominate your mind.
Physical illness that limits your life.
Self-doubt that holds you back.
Neurodiversity that makes you feel different.
Feedback that hits bone-deep.
Young people struggles that steal your spark.

I'm Vicky, an integrative psychotherapist with almost 20 years as an NHS GP behind me. I understand both the emotional weight you're carrying and the physical reality of what you're experiencing.
Here's what matters: you've been incredibly strong to get this far. You are facing real difficulties, and the strategies that have served you well are not enough anymore. I work with you with both passion and the compassion of someone who has walked the paths and rebuilt - and the professional expertise to help you find your way through.
There is something deeply rewarding about witnessing clients rediscover their spark - that moment when they realise they have more strength than they knew. When making changes feels possible rather than overwhelming. When clients start to genuinely enjoy life again. Together, you and I will uncover the strengths you already have and build a clear path forward with strategies that benefit you and your life.
Your Therapist & Ally
My journey from NHS GP to psychotherapist wasn't just a career change - it was recognition that lasting change happens when we understand both the emotional and physical sides of our struggles.
This rich background gives me a broad and deep understanding of both the emotional and physical aspects of health, allowing me to bring a truly integrative perspective to my practice, and combine therapeutic skills and medical knowledge to offer something unique.

If you're wondering why Dragonfly Psychotherapy? Like the dragonfly that symbolises transformation and adaption, I believe in your capacity for change and self-realisation. Together, we'll navigate your journey with empathy and purpose.

Deep Therapeutic Understanding, Enhanced by Medical Insight – A Unique Combination
to explore without judgment
that work in daily life
your mind, body, and circumstances matter
you'll feel heard, valued, and understood
your goals, your pace, your journey
As an integrative psychotherapist, I bring genuine warmth and psychological expertise to every session. What makes my approach unique? Twenty years as an NHS GP means I also understand the medical reality of what you're experiencing. This dual understanding enhances our work, aiming for more effective therapy.
You're already being strong just by considering reaching out. In our work together, there's no judgement, no pressure to be 'fixed,' and no timeline you need to follow. This is your safe space to be exactly where you are, to feel what you're feeling, and to gently explore what comes next. I'm here to walk alongside you with warmth and understanding as you write your next chapter - one filled with greater clarity, self-compassion, and hope.
If you choose to work with me, you're not just getting a therapist - you're gaining a genuine ally on your journey. Clients have told me how much they value feeling truly seen and heard. One client recently shared:
"You have been an incredible support for me. I will never forget you Vicky"
And these words stay with me, as a reminder of why my work matters.
Clients mention three main things about working with me: First, they feel safe to explore difficult emotions without judgment. Second, they appreciate that I don't just listen, I help them develop practical tools they can actually use in their daily lives.
As examples, whether the client has anxiety, depression, difficulties at school or home or is suffering as a result of hormone changes in the menopause I aim to equip them in ways to allow them to move forwards. As one client put it:
"I feel like I have the tools to keep going with it now"
And third, they value the genuine warmth and connection we build together, which becomes the foundation for real change.
Whether you're navigating a specific crisis or feeling generally stuck, my clients find that our sessions offer both immediate relief and lasting clarity and transformation. They sometimes express surprise at how helpful therapy can be:
"These sessions have been so helpful, I so appreciate it"
- especially when they've been hesitant about reaching out to start with.
I understand that choosing a therapist is a big decision. You want someone who truly gets it, someone who can hold space for your struggles whilst also helping you find your way forwards. My clients choose me because they sense that I genuinely care about their wellbeing and bring both professional expertise and heartfelt compassion to every session. And the support that I offer isn't just for the therapy room - it's about empowering you with insights and strategies that become part of your everyday toolkit for wellbeing.
Simple, Flexible, Tailored to You
I'm an integrative therapist - which means I draw from a range of different skills - including CBT, psychodynamic, person-centred and mindfulness approaches. This blend will depend on any specific issues or goals that we have identified for you and may well adjust over the course of our work, creating a plan unique for you. There are no generic one-size-fits-all solutions.
Central to my approach is helping you recognise strengths you may have forgotten you have. Often when life is difficult, we lose sight of our capabilities. Together, we'll uncover and build upon the strengths that have carried you this far - even if you can't see them right now.
No pressure. Let's see if we're a good fit.
We can talk through the difficulties you are experiencing and whether there is something you are hoping to achieve. It's okay if there isn't something specific, sometimes it feels too complicated to untangle everything at first. We can talk through how we might be able to work together.
We'll explore what's bringing you here and create a plan together.
If you decide that you would like to work together with me on your difficulties, we will arrange an initial assessment appointment. This and subsequent sessions are 50 minutes in length. In the initial assessment, I am seeking to get a much more in depth understanding of your difficulties, in order for us to be able to make a plan for working jointly towards your goals. Our sessions would be collaborative and tailored to your specific aims - whether you're looking for immediate relief from stress, seeking to understand and repair from past experiences, or working towards long-term personal growth.
Weekly, fortnightly, or single sessions. In-person or online.
It can be helpful to have a weekly therapy slot booked to keep the momentum of therapy going, but I always try to work around peoples' various circumstances, eg shift work, exams, childcare commitments or preferences, so please talk to me.
If this resonates with you please get in touch. And you can head down to my pages with resources and sources of support, activities, tools and blogs to see if there is something to help you get started.
Easily accessible from Cobham, Godalming, Leatherhead, Dorking and surrounding villages
I have slots across the week, and can often offer short-notice or same-week appointments when needed.
